Abstract



The theory of detecting three-dimensional center of gravity (D3DCG) was an innovation by which the motion dynamics of a ship were applied to moving objects on land such as trains, automobiles, and tarilers. Marine containers are the largest and the heaviest cargo loading units in which the position of center of gravity (C.O.G) is unknown during transportation by such mode of transport. Therefore, D3DCG can be the best solution for preventing rollover accidents of trailer trucks hauling marine containers because D3DCG can detect C.O.G. neither knowing what are inside of containers nor wight of containers. The efficiency of D3DCG has been proved by trucking companies in Japan since 2010 by which D3DCG has been adopted as an official safety system of countermeasures against rollover accidents.
