Seminar on “3-Wide Education”
In order to better adapt and meet the demands of students’ growth, the development of the times and the requirements of social progress, training of socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor, building an integrated ideological and political work system, guiding ideological values through the whole process and all links of education and teachings, Houston International Institute (HII) held a seminar on “3-Wide Education”. Dean Zhang Jinlei, Secretary of CPC Committee Shao Guang, vice Dean He Jiantong and all faculties of the Institute attended the seminar.
Shao Guang stressed that the so-called “four+” education project, which was ideological and political+, legal norms+, academic guidance+, comprehensive quality+. Four sections of education projects could realise the maximum outcome of ideological and political work based on the situation of sino-foreign cooperatively-run institute, focusing on the fundamental task of moral education. It integrated ideological and political education with the transformation of multi-individual resource fusion mode of Chinese and western backgrounds, integrating education system such as curriculum time, innovation and cultural management. The core of the four + education project was educating people in “3-Wide Education”, based on the actual work. We should innovate educational system, mechanism and platform means, and created a new educational system and ecological education. Among them, ideological and political education+ was to work hard on ideals, beliefs, traditional culture, reunification of the motherland, and globalization of international relations. The legal norm + education project should focus on the contents of safety education, intellectual property rights, academic norms, network ethics, religious culture, and overseas safety. Academic guidance + education project, to focus on the professional overview of academic adaptation to the forefront of the discipline pressure relief guidance. Comprehensive literacy + education project was to improve the comprehensive literacy of students and freshmen interpersonal relationship guidance time management career. Contribute on moral, intellectual, physical, beauty and labor hard work, starting from the own unique characteristics of the school, according to local conditions, situation of the Institute, situation of the policy. Zhang Jinlei said, enhancing the three-integrity education achievement needed to work in line with the upper and lower level, both internal and external to refine as well as the combination of the abstract and concrete, persisting in the education oriented and problem oriented, in-depth understanding of students’ ideological status, learning and life, put students’ education management and learning life into an integral process of teaching management service, and construct of the “whole process of education” chain, then truly achieve moral education, focusing on everywhere. Everyone has his duty.

For the next step, HII will continue to promote the “four +” education project as a whole, and strive to establish a new paradigm of “3-Wide Education” in a short period of time with perfect contents, sound standards, scientific operation, powerful guarantee, controllable process, prominent features and intuitive results.
