英语和汉语一样也有许多有趣的固定表达，

Spill the beans：泄露秘密

例句：

1. If you spill the beans, we'll be in trouble.

如果你不慎说漏了嘴，我们都会有麻烦的。

2. This is a secret, don't spill the beans to anybody.

这是一个秘密，不要泄露给任何人。

3. You can't trust him to keep a secret, he is sure to spill the beans.

勿相信他会保守秘密，他肯定会泄露于人的。

有关睡觉的几个习语：

1. Hit the sack：上床睡觉

通常指结束了一天的工作和学习之后上床睡觉。

例句：

Man, I'm beat. I'm going to hit the sack.

天啊，我累死了，我要去睡觉了。

2. Sleep like a log：形容睡的像块木头，也就是说睡的很沉。

例句：

He can sleep like a log in almost any place, including airplanes and cars.

他在任何地方都能睡得很沉，包括在飞机和车子上。

3. Take a nap：睡一小觉

小睡片刻，形容未进入深度睡眠，白天的短暂休息。

例句：

I usually take a nap after lunch.

我经常午饭后打个盹。

4. Take a snooze：眯一小觉

snooze的意思是“小睡、打盹”，take a snooze 是指眯一会儿，时间更短。手机闹钟里“稍后提醒”功能的英文就是 snooze 这个词。

例句：

I think I'll have a quick snooze.

我觉得我要眯一会儿。

5. Doze off：打瞌睡

意思是“打瞌睡、打盹儿”，一般是无意识的，可用于上课打瞌睡。

例句：

I used to doze off while driving, but I don't anymore.

我以前开车时常会打瞌睡，但是现在不会了。

All ears :全神贯注，集中注意力倾听，愿闻其详，洗耳恭听

用于表述自己对对方所说的话很感兴趣，急切想听到的感受，主要用于日常口语。

例句：

A: I've seen something, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong about it, but I'd feel uncomfortable if I kept it to myself.

B: I'm all ears.

A: 我看见了一件事，我不是说这件事有什么不妥。但如果我不说出来，会觉得难受。

B: 我洗耳恭听。

Have a cast iron stomach：吃嘛嘛香

例句：

We all agree that Tom's health is totally because he has a cast iron stomach.

我们都觉得Tom这么健康完全得益于他胃。

Everything but the kitchen sink：几乎包括了所有事

除了厨房里的水槽什么事情都交代了，表示几乎包括了所有的事情。

例子：

Maria was trying so hard to get the question right, she was throwing out everything but the kitchen sink!

为了把问题说明白，玛利亚几乎把所有的事都说了个遍。

Bed of roses：称心如意的境遇

例子：

My sister Irene works at a full time job and has two young sons to take care of when she gets home in the evening. Her husband Bob tries to help out, of course, but he just isn't too handy with kids. Believe me, her life these days is no bed of roses.

我的姐姐Irene有一份全职工作，晚上回家还得照料两个小儿子。当然，她丈夫Bob也试着帮她分挑担子，但Bob不太会带孩子。Irene眼下的日子过得可实在不舒坦。
